The Shillito Surname List was begun in November 2000 by John and Kay Shillitoe to help descendants and relatives to contact each other, exchange information and answer queries. The List is hosted by Rootsweb and for those who have not tried this medium before I can assure you as well as being a pleasant way to "stay in touch" subscribing can get good results, furthermore it costs nothing and is very easy to use.
Subscribers "post" a message via e-mail to the Surname List and
receive the day's postings automatically - you can choose to receive the
messages separately (in mail mode) or all the messages in one posting (in digest
mode).
To subscribe or unsubscribe you just send an e-mail once to the appropriate
address - simple as that!
How To Subscribe and Unsubscribe
Send an e-mail to SHILLITO-L-request@rootsweb.com
with the command "Subscribe" in the subject line and
"Subscribe" in the body text. You will then be subscribed in "mail
mode", which means that you will receive every posting made to the SHILLITO
Surname List as
a separate e-mail.
To subscribe to Digest mode just send a mail as above to SHILLITO-D-request@rootsweb.com
To unsubscribe send an e-mail to whichever address you used to subscribe
with "unsubscribe" typed in the subject and message body.
