There are several Headstones at various locations around the graveyard that have been recorded by the York Cemetery Trust
who endeavour to keep the graveyard in good order.

the 1st June 1804 aged 76 years.
Also Susanna wif of the Above Michael Shillito. She
departed this life November 5th 1806 Aged 77 years.
( Susanna's maiden name was Coates & she came from Pontefract, they were married at Featherston by licence.)

Here lyeth the Body of Joseph Shilleto of Whitwood
who departed this life 14 March 1771 Aged 53 years.
Also John son of Joseph Aforesaid who died 25 Mar 1765
Aged 1 year and a half.
Also .....?... son of the said Joseph who departed his life
September 28 17?3 in his 36 year of his Age

To the Memory of Mr Thomas Shillito late of Methley Bridge
who died the 20th of May 1794 in the 65 year of his age.
Also of Sarah the wife of the above Mr Thomas Shillito and
Thomas their son. The former died the 7 Febry 1773 Aged 33 years
The latter died October 22nd 1778 Aged 11 years.

Son of John Shillito of Guisbun late of Wheldale who departed this life
28 January 1821. Aged 51(?) years.

In the Deanery of Chevet, Diocese of Wakefield. Sharlston was once within this Parish.

A delightful little Parish Church.The single remaining slab is quietly sinking sideways by a bush in the centre of the old churchyard to the right of the path.

Parish of Kellington with Whitley
Parish Church of St. Edmund.
The Church stands isolated amongst meadow and arable land on a footpath to the present village of Kellington. It is a handsome church with a Norman square tower on the lane to the church at Beal. We found one Shillito and his daughter but also found Vandravarts, a Margaret Vandravert had married one of the Shillitos.

Parish Church of Birkin

-: which served Beal being cut off from Kellington by the
river and a wide beck,
no graves found. Nothing seen to link a member of family with Thomas Duffin S.
of Beal who was buried in 1822 near his parents Michael Shillito and
Frances (nee Duffin) in Featherstone.

Exceptional (11th century in part) and well decorated little church. Outside is a stone coffin with lid of Roman type found in a field while ploughing, presumed lost while being rafted from Roman Tadcaster to York.
